This Could Soon Be The World’s First Midrange 5G Phone

5G is the next big thing in the phone networking market. 5G is touted to leave 4G in the dust when it comes to networking speeds but at this moment, 5G capable phones are very rare and only a handful of OEMs have released 5G capable phones. Samsung has the Galaxy S10 5G, OnePlus has the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G, Oppo has the Oppo Reno 5G and few other OEMs like Sony have showcased their 5G prototype models. None of the available 5G capable phones is cheap. All of them are high end to premium grade devices. But if you are someone who is running on a low budget and cannot afford those flagships, we have some good news for you as soon we may see a 5G phone in the midrange segment. Moreover, this phone is coming from the stable of Samsung.

Leakster Steve Hemmerstoffer, in a series of tweets, has revealed that Samsung is indeed working on a mid-range 5G capable phone with model number SM-A90X. There is a high probability that it could be named as the Samsung Galaxy A90 during its launch since A80 was the company’s most superior non-flagship phone. There is another possibility that Samsung might launch it under an entirely new moniker dubbed as the Galaxy R lineup of phones which may eventually replace the A series of midrange Samsung offerings. We saw this during the launch of Galaxy M series of phones where it replaced the Galaxy J lineup.

It is also been said that the new 5G midrange offering will sport triple rear cameras and a nearly bezel-less OLED display. Regarding pricing, it is expected to launch around 550 USD ( 38,500 INR) and can be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730. If this happens, this will be a great achievement for Samsung since the past few years in the midrange segment has been lackluster at best especially since the arrival of competitive Chinese OEMs.
