DxOMark is a popular benchmarking service which reviews camera performance of the device and presents its reviews in numbers. The Samsung Galaxy A50 which sports a triple camera set up on the rear has managed to achieve such a high score in the DxOMark’s rating which none other phones with such modest specifications can imagine. The camera duties on the rear are handled by a 25 MP (f/1.7) primary sensor plus a wide-angle 8 MP (f/2.2) sensor and a 5 MP (f/2.2) sensor to gather depth information for portrait shots. The selfie duties are handled by a 25 MP (f/2.0) sensor.

It scored 85 in photo tests, 79 in video tests and an overall of 83. The scores sound pretty interesting since yester year’s flagships such as the iPhone 7 (85), Nokia 8 Sirrocco (84), LG G7 ThinQ (83), Sony Xperia XZ2 (83) have all scored pretty similar scores. DxOMark says that they were impressed by the phone camera’s dynamic range, fast autofocus, accurate white balance, good color saturation, and contrast while the video capabilities were not as good as the still photograph outputs.
