Realme X Is Set To Launch On May 15: Price, Specifications, and More

The Chinese smartphone brand Realme is launching the Realme X on the 15th of May 2019. It has been teased in a video. It is a sister brand of Oppo smartphones. It caters to the entry-level and budget price segment. However, Realme X is going to be the Flagship phone of the Realme series.

Rumors suggest that its Chinese Competitor Redmi which is a brand owned by Xiaomi, is also coming with a Flagship phone named Redmi X. But, later the name was dismissed by the GM of Redmi, Lu Weibing.

Last year Poco F1 was the flagship killer with premium specs on a price of a budget phone. This year it is expected that Realme X is going to pack the same high-end specs. For this very reason, it is also touted to be the “Poco Killer”.

There are rumors and leaks that what might Realme X will house under its hardware. Interestingly it is expected to pack the all-new Snapdragon 855 chipset. But, it is also rumored to have a rather Snapdragon 730 chipset. We have to wait till May 15th to know the reality.

The smartphone has visited many regulatory websites, such as TENAA in China, which supports the rumors. On the display side, it will be a 6.5-inch FHD+ AMOLED display without a notch. The battery will be bigger at 3680mAH with the company’s proprietary VOOC 3.0 supercharge technology.

But the most exciting leak is that the Realme X will house a pop-up selfie camera. It is touted to endure around 200,000 times of the open-close process. The camera block of the smartphone features a dual setup at the rear end with 48MP and 5MP lenses, while a front pop-up camera contains a 25MP resolution.

Configuration and Connectivity

In terms of connectivity, the smartphone has 4G VoLTE enabled support. It also has Wi-Fi, which features Mobile Hotspot, Bluetooth, GPS, USB Type-C, Mass storage device, USB charging, etc.


The expected price in India is around INR16,590. For the exact price, we will have to wait until the launch to get the details.

Color Options

The standard Black, Blue and White colors will be available for the Realme X. No other fancy color is expected to arrive with this smartphone.
