Google is in trouble again; this time in Italy

Google has been abused by Italy’s competition watchdog. The watchdog has opened an investigation against Google stating it abuses the dominant market position in the smartphone sector. The watchdog in a statement said that Google had allegedly refused to integrate the app called “Enel X Recharge”. It is a utility app for Google’s Android Auto app. With the help of Enel X Recharge app allows the drivers of electric cars to find charging stations near to them and book them remotely.

A Google spokesperson in a statement said that,

Android Auto was designed with safety in mind to minimise distractions and ensure apps could be used safely when driving. We are reviewing the complaint and look forward to working with the authority to resolve their concerns.

But, Enel declined this comment. The hearing for this plea is due to be completed by May 30 next year.
