  • From the Start menu, open Windows settings

Way 3: Search

In your taskbar look for the search icon, type troubleshoot.

Once it shows you, click on the troubleshoot settings option. It will take you to the troubleshooting window, now click on the playing audio followed by Run the troubleshooter button.

6. Restart Windows Audio Service 

Restart the service of your window and then keep its Start-up in the form of automatic.

For doing that, you again have to follow some steps-

Step 1: From Run, launch the service on your laptop or PC. You can do it after clicking at Windows key and R, at the same time. Type services.msc and then click on OK.


Step 2: In the services option, you will find Windows Audio Service. In the Startup Type column, check whether it is automatic or not. If not, then do it.


For doing it automatically if it’s manual, just double click on it. You will go to its properties; you can choose Automatic from there under the Startup section. Now press OK for saving the changes.


Step 3: Click on the right side and select the Windows Audio. Now, select restart.


Step 4: For the Windows Audio Endpoint Builder, repeats the mentioned steps.

7. Check default speaker 

If you are someone who has multiple speakers on your PC or laptop, then you have to choose one and set it as the default one.

Also, sometimes it happens that after updating the Windows, the setting gets changed.

Therefore, you need to change it again to get the sound back. For fixing that issue, follow the below-mentioned steps.

  • In the taskbar, click on the search option and type Control Panel.
  • Once you get into it, click on sound.
